IAM / IDAM Engineer (Microsoft Identity & PowerShell)
Walter Everett is a niche technical recruitment company, and we are currently helping our clients to hire an IAM / IDAM Engineer.

- Scripting and automating identity tasks, ideally in PowerShell
- Looking after user accounts, groups and permissions across the full joiner, mover and leaver lifecycle
- Managing access and authentication, including multi-factor authentication, conditional access and privileged access
- Troubleshooting identity issues and keeping the platform secure, stable and well documented
- Working closely with the wider team and the client to improve identity processes
What you must have
- Hands-on experience of identity and access management (IAM / IDAM) in a Windows environment
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills
- Experience managing a complex identity system for thousands of users
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience of Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management (PIM), including wider privileged access management
- A solid understanding of Zero Trust security principles
- Experience of identity governance and access reviews
- A clear, practical communicator who is comfortable working in a small team and mostly remotely
- Willing and eligible to hold UK government security clearance (SC)
The interview process
Interviews are competency based. You will be asked to demonstrate what you have implemented, how you did it and what you have advised on, so please come ready to talk through real examples from your own work, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM and PowerShell automation.
